On self-change

1. I see myself as somehow stuck or inadequate.

2. This judgment leads me to try to change myself.

3. The moment I try to change myself, another part of me rises up to resist the change.

4. The resisting part tends to be stronger than the part that wants change.

5. My attempt at change fails.

6. I resume seeing myself as stuck or inadequate.
